I write adult speculative fiction with a heavy side order of romance, generally involving some combination of morally ambiguous protagonists, villainous love interests, unreliable narrators, scheming, complex family dynamics and big twists.

I hope to write more in the world of Witch Trials soon - in addition to a few ideas revolving around Mannith and the main and supporting cast, I've got a few spin-offs in mind, relating to the vampires from Book 2 and the witches of the Cornish Enclave who crop up occasionally.
In the meantime, UNCHOSEN, my latest WIP, is an adult portal fantasy about the unremarkable but scheming half-sister of a glamourous and talented “chosen one” who, after her sister’s suspicious death, disguises herself as her and attempts to fulfil her prophesised destiny.
I’ve also written THE DICTATOR’S WIFE (mostly shelved for now, but we'll see...) an adult speculative romantic thriller about the idealistic run-up and brutal aftermath of a UK military coup, told from the perspective of the eponymous scheming spouse.
About Me
I grew up in the North of England and now live in London with my husband and our 5 year old daughter and toddler son. I studied history at Oxford University (I still love the three Rs: Renaissance, Restoration, and Regency), then went to law school and qualified as a barrister. I now work for the UK Government. My writing often draws on my knowledge and experience of history, law, and politics.
I’ve written several manuscripts across a range of broadly speculative/SFF genres. I'm represented by Marlene Stringer and my Witch Trials books were published in 2023 by Storm Publishing.
I love reading as wide a variety of fiction as possible, though again fantasy of all kinds tends to be my favourite. I also enjoy reviewing novels and am an Amazon top 1000 reviewer and an enthusiastic Netgalley participant.
Books aside, I’m fanatical about home exercise (mainly weights and yoga) and also about cooking – the two things just about balance each other out! I’m also a big fan of football (aka “soccer”)
and music, and am attempting to learn Italian and Spanish (though please don’t test me on this, I’m terrible!).
